چکیده

This brief presents a survey of analog high frequency design challenges for continuous time integrator to be used in low pass ∑Δ Modulator. Such oversampling modulators are fast replacing old Nyquist based modulators in analog to digital converters used in RF front end of transceivers. Possible solutions to some of the most common but stringent analog issues are also presented. This communication is a unique literature survey and can guide through the design of challenging analog modules. Keywords-Gm-integrator, CMOS, non-idealities, continuous

Continuous-Time Analog Filtering: Design Strategies and Programmability in CMOS Technologies for VHF Applications

The evolution of wireless applications (the performance as well as the number of users) has undergone explosive growth in the last years, resulting in an increasing demand for smaller, low-cost wireless transceivers with low power consumption. In order to meet this demand, continuous development must take place both in CMOS technology and in RF electronics, the goal of which should be to achiev...

Design of Gate-Driven Quasi Floating Bulk OTA-Based Gm–C Filter for PLL Applications

The advancement in the integrated circuit design has developed the demand for low voltage portable analog devices in the market. This demand has increased the requirement of the low-power RF transceiver. A low-power phase lock loop (PLL) is always desirable to fulfill the need for a low power RF transceiver. This paper deals with the designing of the low power transconductance- capacitance (Gm-...

A Design Strategy for Low-Voltage Low-Power Continuous-Time A/D Converters

This paper presents a design strategy for low-voltage low-power analog-to-digital (A/D) converter using a continuous-time (CT) lowpass loopfilter. An improved method is used to find the optimal modulator implementation with respect to a minimal power consumption on the one hand and to fulfil a rapid prototyping approach on the other hand. The influence of the low supply voltage as well as circu...
